MECP Announces New Advanced Installation Technician Study Guide for 2012
MECP is proud to announce that it will release a new edition of its Advanced Installation Technician Study
Guide for 2012. Updated with a wide range of new content, the guide will become available on January 3, 2012
through the CEA Store
and Amazon.com. An updated version of the MECP Advanced
Installation Technician Exam will be deployed on February 1, 2012. Those who wish to take the *current* version
of the Advanced Installation Technician exam should make sure to take the exam before February 1, 2012.
After that date, the Advanced Installation Technician exam will feature new content found only in the updated
Advanced Installation Technician Study Guide and in the course of your professional work experience.
As this study guide and certification level is considered the "in the trenches" reference, MECP has
formed all of these new additions and refinements around a newly created Advanced Installation Technician
general job description document. This will allow both technicians and prospective employers to have a better
idea of what someone with an average 1-3 year experience level of working professionally should expect to see
on the job.
MECP has been hard at work with some of the industry's foremost experts who have volunteered their time and
talents to craft a guide designed to both educate and challenge installation technicians working in the
installation bays of retailers across North America.
