Dust Collection Tips & Tricks Many people know MECP for the “book learning” side of our industry and for the skills that technicians and professional installation shops should embrace for putting out the best work possible. While that’s true, MECP also sets the standard in shop management and best practices for installation. In this issue of MECP On-the-Move, we have the privilege of communicating a message that’s important for anyone who is involved in fabrication, MECP certified or not. This is really about MECP pointing out the importance of a safe and healthy work environment for the industry’s technicians. Honorary MECP Master Installation Technician Chris Yato has created an informative article of tips and tricks about dust collection in a work environment that involves fabrication of wood, plastics, fiberglass and more. Yato says, “We can all improve the quality of our work and the regularity of that quality with some simple but critical improvements to the reduction of airborne particles in our work environment. Over many years, I have had the opportunity to refine my approach to dust collection and shop cleanliness, which I will share with you in this informative “How To” article”. So many of the greatest projects in our industry still come out of shops that have underperforming airborne particle management and, after time passes, it’s an impact we should really take seriously”.
Do you have all the right tools to fabricate but your shop is still unable to manage Check out Yato ’s full article, Dust Collection Tips & Tricks , on MECP.com and learn about the latest in cyclonic dust collectors. There are some fantastic examples and many resources to keep your shop on the cutting edge of particle management and, perhaps equally as important, keep our best technicians breathing safely!
