How long have you been in the industry?
I started installing at 16, but professionally when I was 18. So about seven years.

How many years have you been MECP certified? How long have you been Master certified?
I got Basic certified in 2008, Advanced in 2009, then Master certified in 2011.

What is the year, make and model of the most difficult car you've ever worked on?
There are a bunch of difficult cars, but I hate pretty much ANY European cars...too tight.

Give us a rundown of the system installed in your vehicle right now.
It's definitely a mix-and-match system. At the moment I have a Pioneer AVIC D3 double DIN, Polk 6.5" components up front, JL 6x9's in the back, a JL 350/4 for the interiors, Pioneer GM-D8500M for the Alpine Type R 12" sub in a custom, built-to-spec box. I like the sound but it's always changing.

Name the top five artists in your MP3 player at the moment.
Pretty much if it sounds good I'll listen to it. I can't say I have a top 5.

What is your favorite tool to use in the installation bay and why?
My meter. It has gotten me out of a lot of issues I couldn't have figured out otherwise and it never lies.

What's the best advice you have ever gotten in your installation career?
Don't break it!

Who inspires you to further your skills and your career in mobile electronics installation?
The people who are still really passionate about the industry. I hear all the time about how it's a dying field and that in a few years there won't be anything for installers to do. But as long as there are people out there who still care, and are still passionate, then there will always be ways to upgrade electronics in vehicles. We just need to change with the times.
